UMBA Showcases Business Contributions to Biodiversity Conservation at COP17
During COP17, taking place in Armenia from 19 to 30 October, the Green Zone at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan serves as a platform for presenting environmental initiatives, sustainable development solutions, and responsible business practices.
The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA) is participating with its own booth in the Green Zone, presenting its key activities and initiatives aimed at biodiversity conservation and the green transition. The booth also showcases the environmental initiatives and activities of UMBA member companies.
The UMBA booth also features the initiatives and activities of several member companies, including Apaven LLC, LIKVOR LLC, Philip Morris Armenia, Noyan LLC, Armenal CJSC, Narek LLC, and the EcoVille Holding.
On 25 October, UMBA will host a series of events at COP17, bringing together business representatives and international partners to discuss biodiversity conservation, regional cooperation, and sustainable business practices.
The programme will feature discussions on private-sector solutions for biodiversity, responsible food production, renewable energy, energy storage, and the role of business in the green transition. It will also include a presentation of the “UMBA for Green Transition” programme, and the official signing of a position paper by partner organisations from Denmark, Moldova and Georgia.
The programme will conclude with a panel discussion on renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable business, highlighting the importance of cooperation and innovation in advancing the green transition.
Through these initiatives, UMBA aims to strengthen dialogue between businesses and international partners, promote responsible business practices, and encourage greater private-sector involvement in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
UMBA’s participation in COP17 reflects its commitment to advancing the business community’s environmental agenda and supporting practical solutions that contribute to nature conservation and a greener economy.
