Hosted Armenian-Czech business forum

Prague, the Czech Republic, hosted the Czech-Armenian Business Forum in the framework of the official visit of the President of Armenia, Mr. Serj Sargsyan. The Business Forum was organized by the Armenian Development Agency and the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia on January 31st, 2014.

The Armenian delegation was represented by almost 30 businessmen representing different business sectors: construction, small hydroelectric stations, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism. The Czech side was represented by more than 100 entrepreneurs that have expressed great interest in cooperation with Armenia. An agreement for cooperation between the Armenian and Czech Unions of Builders was signed.

There were opening remarks by the Czech President, Mr. Milos Zeman and President of Armenia, Mr. Serj Sargsyan. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Minister of Economy of Armenia also made speeches at the forum. The President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Mr. Jaroslav Hanák spoke on the prospects of cooperation between the two countries. General Director of the Armenian Development Agency, Mr. Robert Harutyunyan made a presentation on the investment climate in Armenia.

A return visit of the President of the Czech Republic to Armenia, along with top manufacturers of the Czeck Republic is expected.
