Business community of Armenia and EAEU: problems, expectations, prospects

On February 26, 2016 a conference Business Community of Armenia and EAEU: Problems, Expectations, Prospects was organized at the Noravank Foundation, attended by renowned experts. During the event issues regarding the prospects of economic and particularly industrial development of Armenia were discussed, including the opportunities for the Armenian businesses in the light of the country’s membership in EAEU, and the existing problems in this context along with their possible solutions.

The participants were greeted by Gagik Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Noravank Foundation, and Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia.

The following presentations were made during the conference:

1. EDUARD KIRAKOSYAN (Executive Director, Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia): ARMENIAN BUSINESS COMMUNITY’S EXPECTATIONS FROM THE COUNTRY’S PARTICIPATION IN THE EURASIAN INTEGRATION PROCESS

2. ASHOT TEVIKYAN (Consultant, Noravank Foundation) – INDUSTRIAL POLICY AND MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF ARMENIA AS A FOUNDATION FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

3. SAMVEL MANUKYAN (Consultant, Noravank Foundation) – TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND DEMOGRAPHIC PROBLEMS OF ARMENIA

The conference was organized by joint efforts of the Noravank Foundation, Expert Network “International Relations and Economic Integration in South Caucasus”, Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, Russian Society “Znanie”, Integration and Development NGO, and Non-Profit Partnership “Caucasian Collaboration.”
