THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF “SYNOPSYS ARMENIA” WAS CELEBRATED

On October 9, at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Alexander Spendiaryan in Yerevan, the 20th anniversary of “Synopsys Armenia” was celebrated. “Synopsys” began its operations in Armenia in 2004 as “Synopsys Armenia” CJSC. Since then, “Synopsys Armenia” has become one of the key branches of Synopsys, engaged in research and engineering work, design for production, and the development of semiconductor intellectual property. Today, the company employs hundreds of qualified engineers and is one of the largest employers in the IT sector in the country. To ensure Armenia has highly qualified IT specialists, the company invests in IT education and implements successful cooperation programs with several leading universities in the country.

“We started with 45 employees 20 years ago, and today we have 1,300. We began with one center, and today we have three. The quality of our work has also improved greatly over the years. I am pleased to mention that five years ago, at the company’s 15th anniversary, I said that we had the desire to establish a center in Gyumri, and today it is already operational,” noted Yervant Zorian, the President of “Synopsys Armenia,” during his speech. He assured that they would not stop at their achievements and would continue to develop the company’s capabilities․

Hovik Musayelyan, Director of “Synopsys Armenia” CJSC, emphasized that throughout these years, they have faced challenges and difficulties, but they have achieved many successes and great accomplishments.

“I am proud of the employees of ‘Synopsys Armenia’ because many, despite having wide opportunities to work abroad, choose to work, create, and innovate in their homeland. Over the years, our employees have also created about 15,000 new jobs in the service sector of the country. Of course, our success wouldn’t be complete without our partners—universities, international organizations, unions, and both current and former leadership,” said Hovik Musayelyan.

During the ceremony, programs aimed at the development of the IT sector, implemented in collaboration with the Armenian government, the education system, and business and public organizations, were presented.

The event also featured a jubilee awards ceremony under the slogan “Recognize the Best, Inspire the Next.” This year, for the 20th time, the winners of the annual educational awards for the best students in the IT sector were honored—37 winners, including 31 students and 6 schoolchildren. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the awards to the winners.

According to the Prime Minister, the most important outcome of any endeavor is the legacy it leaves behind. “It is crucial to have people who will take over that baton and achieve even more than those before them. Today’s award ceremony is a testament to that,” he noted.

“The past 20 years have flown by in an atmosphere of teamwork, achieving excellent results, and forming a unique culture. We have been a partner structure of ‘Synopsys Armenia’ and truly share the sense of pride that comes with the meaning of that brand,” said UMBA’s President Arsen Ghazaryan, congratulating the company on behalf of partner organizations. For his significant contribution to the development of the IT sector, the creation of new jobs, and the 20th anniversary of “Synopsys Armenia” CJSC, Arsen Ghazaryan awarded Hovik Musayelyan, the company’s director and a member of the UMBA’s presidency, with a certificate of honor and a gold medal from the Union.
