Rules of paying VAT
YEREVAN. – Rules of paying VAT are not yet entirely clear for Armenian service industry businesses catering in Russia, Mr Aaron Chilingaryan, member of the Association of Accountants and Auditors of Armenia, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
“We have no definite message from the authorities of the Eurasian Union or Armenia as to where an Armenian business is supposed to pay VAT upon providing services in Russia”, Chilingaryan said.
Armenia and Russia have an agreement on avoiding double taxation, in effect since 1996, but, Chilingaryan explained, it only covers direct taxes and therefore leaves out VAT.
Consequently, the Association of accountants and auditors, as well as the Union of businessmen of Armenia, are going to send an inquiry to the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
