[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”text-justify”]On June 28, within the framework of the project “UBA for Green Transition: Institutional Capacity Building and Leadership in the Implementation of ESG Policy”<\/b><\/strong>, jointly implemented by the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia and the Confederation of Danish Industry, a meeting was held at the Alluria Complex with representatives of several leading Armenian wine-producing companies.<\/p>\n

The event, entitled “ESG and Opportunities for the Development of the Wine Industry: International Experience and Armenia’s Prospects,”<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0aimed to introduce businesses operating in the alcoholic beverages sector to international Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, best practices, and the importance of their implementation in production processes, particularly for accessing new international markets.<\/p>\n

Project Manager Mikayel Tevosyan<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0presented in detail the objectives and key directions of the UMBA project, the main ESG requirements and standards, and the available implementation tools. He also shared successful examples from Moldova’s experience in applying ESG principles. In addition, he discussed current ESG development trends in Armenia and the approaches being taken to develop ESG tools tailored to the country’s wine industry.<\/p>\n

The participants presented the measures their companies have already undertaken to comply with ESG standards, highlighted the challenges they face in localizing and implementing these practices, emphasized the importance of access to relevant information, and received answers to numerous questions of interest.<\/p>\n

It was noted that cooperation within the framework of the UMBA project will continue, and that practical guidelines for the implementation of ESG standards will be developed in the near future.<\/p>\n

The meeting was followed by a guided tour of the Alluria Complex, where participants became acquainted with the wine production process, the technologies employed at the facility, and the environmental measures implemented by the company.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
