On May 3, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the representatives of the United Platform of Economically Oriented Non-Governmental Organizations.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, presented the expediency, problems and directions of activity of the formation of the United Platform.
“As the UMBA, the various sectoral business organizations as well, have previously had the experience of direct cooperation both with each other and with the government, but as a result of the discussions, we came to the conclusion that within the framework of the United Platform, it will be possible to raise issues of general interest, conduct discussions, form effective solutions and present them to relevant government bodies,” said Arsen Ghazaryan.
The Platform, which currently unifies eleven economic-oriented non-governmental organizations, is open, so it is expected that other structures will join in the near future. The President of the UMBA expressed his confidence that the existing problems in various fields will be identified effectively and through discussions cohesive approaches will be formed, and public-private dialogue will be implemented in a new format.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting and the initiative of the new format of cooperation, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan expressed readiness for further broad cooperation. Referring to the previous experience of working with economic-oriented public organizations, he emphasized that the new format will not replace the existing ones, but will complement and enrich that toolkit. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the formation and presentation of united collective opinions within the framework of economic reforms. Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the necessity of defining the working mechanism of effective communication between the government and the United Platform, and clarifying the agenda of the issues to be discussed together.
