“Armenia is an important partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus region,” Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia
On March 27, an Armenian-Kazakh business forum was held in the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, which was organized within the framework of the business mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia.
“Along with the visits and contacts at the highest level between Armenia and Kazakhstan, it is important that we, the business circles, meet frequently, discuss, develop and implement joint projects”, UMBA Vice President Nerses Karamanukyan said, welcoming the participants of the event. Nerses Karamanukyan expressed confidence that the present forum will create support and favorable conditions for further deepening of bilateral economic cooperation.
“Armenia is an important partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus region,” Bolat Imanbaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia, said in his speech. “Our countries are connected by strong relations and great potential in many directions.” We highly value the traditional friendly relations and support their further deepening with the widest inclusion.” According to the ambassador, the Armenian-Kazakh trade and economic relations are developing dynamically in both bilateral and multilateral formats, which is significantly facilitated by representatives at the highest level. According to Bolat Imanbayev, today there are 340 companies with Armenian capital and 76 Kazakh-Armenian joint ventures operating in Kazakhstan in various fields. Bolat Imanbaev informed that the 10th session of the Armenian-Kazakh intergovernmental economic commission will take place next week, and, according to him, it is expected that new agreements will be adopted as a result, which will give additional impetus to mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment relations.
According to Armen Yeganyan, Head of the Industry Development Department of the RA Ministry of Economy, there is a great potential for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of information technology and industry. He separately referred to the fields where joint cooperation promises good prospects, including jewelry, equipment construction, pharmaceuticals, building materials production, agriculture, light industry, tourism, and service. Welcoming the participants of the event on behalf of the RA Ministry of Economy, he expressed confidence that the speeches, presentations, discussions, exchange of experience will serve the further development of Armenian-Kazakh economic relations.
Tatevik Galoyan, Manager of Investment Promotion and External Relations of “Enterprise Armenia”, presented the economic policy adopted in Armenia and investment opportunities to the forum participants.
The president of “Astana” diplomatic club Kairbolat Sahmetov and the representative of the foreign cooperation department of “KazakhExport” Artyom Tolstov spoke about Kazakhstan’s economic opportunities.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Union of Industrialists and Businessmen of Armenia and the “Astana” Diplomatic Club.
Conference was followed with B2B meetings between Kazakh business delegation and Armenian business community.
