The President of the UMBA received the representative of the International Organization of Employers (IOE)
On October 2, the President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan received Pierre Vincensin, Senior Advisor of the International Organization of Employers (IOE).
Arsen Ghazaryan, presenting the main directions of the activities of the UMBA, specifically referred to the protection of businessmen’s interests, law-making processes, state-private dialogue, as well as the work carried out by the Union in international and regional business structures. At the request of the guest, he presented in detail the principles of operation of the unified platform of non-governmental organizations of economic orientation, created by the initiative of the UMBA.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Pierre Vincencini presented the 100-year path of IOE, the priorities of its activities, the international and regional programs implemented.
The IOE is the sole representative of business in the social and employment policy debates that take place in the ILO, the United Nations, the G20 and other significant structures. On behalf of 150 member organizations, the organization seeks to contribute to the search for solutions to the most urgent problems for businesses and employers with its many years of unique experience.
It was noted that entrepreneurs today face many challenges related to skills development, labor migration and business development itselfIn this context, the IOE seeks to be an influential and balanced voice of business in the process of shaping and advancing the overall employment and social policy agenda.
The parties agreed to establish further close cooperation. It was considered to examine the possibilities of membership of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia to the International Organization of Employers.
