The 24th session of the EAEU Business Council presidency was held in Yerevan
“The deepening of the Eurasian economic integration and ensuring the effective functioning of the common economic area require continuous work in the direction of eliminating obstacles, including prohibitions, restrictions and exceptions in the internal market of the EAEU”, – said Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, Chairman of the EAEU Business Council, during the 24th session of the EAEU Business Council Presidency held in Yerevan on September 30.
Presenting the “Monitoring of the existing obstacles in the EAEU internal market”, the UMBA President informed that the Presidency of the Business Council in its previous session decided to activate the activity of developing appropriate mechanisms for the elimination of prohibitions, restrictions and exceptions for the goods and services of EU member states in the EAEU and in third countries direction, as well as to submit proposals regarding the application of tariff and non-tariff measures to goods imported from third countries to the EAEU markets.
It was mentioned that it is proposed to conduct a survey among member companies of the EAEU Business Council regarding the existing obstacles in the domestic market, as well as in relations with the Union and third countries.
According to Arsen Ghazaryan, a report will be drawn up based on the results of the survey of member companies of the EAEU Business Council for the formation of a consolidated position of Eurasian business and its promotion during the dialogue with the national authorities and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
“Dialogue of the EAEU and EEC Business Council is the key to successful integration in the interests of the business community,” Eldar Alisherov, Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said in his speech. According to him, the declaration on the further development of economic processes in the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and the “Eurasian Economic Path” until 2045 opens up new opportunities for business.
The “Eurasian Economic Path” declaration is a document that is first of all necessary for business entities to confidently conduct business with EAEU partners, to improve the business and investment environment, and to ensure favorable competition,” he said.
During the session held within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Forum, special attention was paid to the interaction of the EEC and EAEU Business Council with international partners.
